To Strike, Or Not To Strike
Even if the actors strike doesn’t happen, there is already an economic impact going on which is currently affecting production schedules
Even a smaller strike would slow down the recovery
We’re frustrated and discouraged that the talks have stalled because SAG’s Hollywood leadership is focused on its campaign to interfere with the affair of a fellow union
The producers remain committed to avoiding another harmful, unnecessary strike and to reaching another fair and forward-looking labour agreement

He’s A Sporting Fellow
I would encourage athletes not to distract themselves by burying themselves in the nuance and facts and figures and legislation of China, but simply to acknowledge that being an ambassador for human rights in China is the most Olympian thing to do. Anything less than that is not being a true Olympian, no matter the colour of the medal that you hold up
I’ve read the Olympic charter and when you read it, it is quite clear that it expects from athletes something more than being hugely talented beasts of burden
It expects that sport be more than entertainment of the masses. It demands that they are intended to be a tool for wholesale change in the lives of individuals and groups
If you have the power to make the world better then that’s something you should do, particularly when it is directly in line with your charter. To ignore those ideals so as not to embarrass a host compromises the movement

The short answer is the intent is there.
Its probability, particularly in the short term, is lower than conventional weapons
In the immediate or near term, the focus is on conventional weapons, which can still be quite damaging. Something on the scale of 9/11 or the attacks on your transportation system. We have to look at the whole spectrum
