Who’s Going To Bail Us Out?

– Rep John Dingell (D_MI) tried to convince his fellow members of Congress to vote for the $15 billion bailout for U.S. automakers.

It would be an absolute shame to force those companies into bankruptcy

– Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) forgets that automakers got themselves into this mess, not the American people. No one is forcing them into bankruptcy except themselves.

The taxpayer can take no more

– Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) wonders how much the American taxpayer can take. Why are we bailing out the auto industry, and not all of the other manufacturing sectors across the country?

The truth is, the debt will be put on the shoulders of the US people. And will likely be spread over time, in the taxes. It’s a shame, but it is what it is….
