An Imaginary Adviser
“If you have a social need, you’re with Hillary”
“If you want Obama to be your imaginary hip black friend and you’re young and you have no social needs, then he’s cool”
John Kerry Endorses The Future, Not The Past
John Kerry wants us to forget the past. If we forget the past, we forget everything he has done too, which would be really nice, for him anyway.
I’m so glad he took the time today to point out that Barack Obama is younger than Hillary Clinton. I wouldn’t have known if he didn’t tell me. I hang on every word he speaks. Wait, no, I got that wrong. I want to hang myself every time he speaks.
“Who better than Barack Obama to turn a new page in American politics?”
“We are electing judgment and character, not years on this earth”
“John Kerry is a man of courage, a man of conviction and man whose life story has given him an intimate understanding of the kind of change we need right now”
Ehud Olmert On Peace
“Israel does not tolerate and will not tolerate the continuation of these vicious attacks”
“We will not hesitate to take all the necessary measures. There will be no peace unless terror is stopped. And terror will have to be stopped everywhere”
“I’m under no allusions. This is going to be hard work”
Hillary Gives Barack A History Lesson
“You know, today Senator Obama used President John F. Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to criticize me. He basically compared himself to our greatest heroes because they gave great speeches.”
“President Kennedy was in Congress for 14 years. He was a war hero. He was a man of great accomplishments and readiness to be president. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. led a movement. He was gassed. He was beaten. He was jailed. And he gave a speech that was one of the most beautifully, profoundly important speeches ever written in America, the “I have a dream” speech.”
“And then he worked with President Johnson to get the civil rights laws passed, because the dream couldn’t be realized until finally it was legally permissible for people of all colors and backgrounds and races and ethnicities to be accepted as citizens.”
“I’m running for president because I believe that there is not a contradiction between experience and change.”
– Hillary Clinton talks about Barack Obama and his using Pres. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. to criticize her.
It’s Not Easy For Hillary Clinton
It’s not easy. It’s not easy
And I couldn’t do it if I just didn’t, you know, passionately believe it was the right thing to do
You know, this is very personal for me. It’s not just political
It’s All The Bloggers Fault!
“What I really worry about is that I think the bloggers and everyone, everyone with a laptop thinks they’re journalists”
“And, they certainly don’t have our standards. They don’t have our ethics, and so forth. There’s a deterioration”
“Reporters laid down on the job in the run up to this [the Iraq] war”
Remembering Andrew Olmsted
If there is any hope for the long term success of democracy, it will be if people agree to listen to and try to understand their political opponents rather than simply seeking to crush them.
Hillary Clinton Moves On
This is a new day, this is a new state
We can’t have false hopes. We’ve got to have a person who can walk into that Oval office on day one and start doing the hard work that it takes to deliver change
I feel that we executed what we thought was the limit of what we could produce in Iowa under the circumstances that we were facing
A Big Stink About Nothing, Really
“A discussion took place today between Jay Leno and the Writers Guild to clarify to him that writing for ‘The Tonight Show’ constitutes a violation of the guild’s strike rules”
“It was a very amicable conversation”
“Jay’s been a great supporter of the strike and very vocal in his support, so I think the discussion today was just about clarification”
And NBC responds with the facts:
“The WGA agreement permits Jay Leno to write his own monologue for ‘The Tonight Show”
Ed Rollins Is Negative
The negatives feel good
It’s like being a boxer when you’re young. To me, hitting somebody, knocking somebody down, is a great feeling. Firing out a negative ad just feels amazing
What I have to do is make sure that my anger with a guy like Romney, whose teeth I want to knock out, doesn’t get in the way of my thought process
